Our BIKING Dutchman Company started some 12 years ago with mountain bike tours, being the pioneers in this kind of trip in Ecuador.

The owners are JAN LESCRAUWAET from Holland, who happened to be a Globetrotter on a bike, and ANA NOBOA from Ecuador.
Jan biked on all five continents and found that there's no place like Ecuador for biking.


We started doing everything ourselves: Jan created the tours and found the routes while everybody told him he was nuts trying to do mountain biking in Ecuador. Ana ran the office and prepared the food. We began with 5 bikes and 1 jeep. We have now 80 bikes and 4 jeeps.

Slowly, slowly the best "promotion" you can have started to work: the famous "word of mouth". People would phone us because they had heard from someone that he or she had a terrific time or they would read somewhere that it was the highlight of their trip. Good bikes, good jeeps, delicious homemade food. And here we are, 12 years later....

Yacu Amu Rafting and Kayaking was born of a love of rivers and all they have to offer. And the rivers of Ecuador offer some of the most rewarding river experiences to be had on the planet.

On our river adventures we seek out both the action of thrilling whitewater and the tranquillity of drifting silently through tropical rainforests. More than that though, we at Yacu Amu aim to give you an experience to remember - an adventure, an escape, a glimpse of a unique and little seen part of the natural world.

At the end of a Yacu Amu Rafting or Kayaking trip we hope you too will have been touched by the spirit of the river, Yacu Amu.
